В статье рассматривается проблема защиты прав человека в Европейском союзе, как и почему она возникла и почему ставится вопрос о присоединении ЕС к Европейской конвенции о защите прав человека и основных свобод. В статье также освещается позиция Совета Европы в отношении присоединения в свете принятых в его рамках документов. Особое внимание в данной статье также уделяется проблеме политических и правовых последствий присоединения ЕС к Европейской конвенции.
The author considers the problem of human rights protection in the EU, the history of the mentioned issue, as well as why it is necessary for the EU to accede to the European Convention. The author also describes the position of the Council of Europe towards the problem of accession in the light of the documents, concluded by Council of Europe. Special emphasis is given to the political and legal consequences of the future accession.
